Ms. Riviere spent her early career representing insurance carriers. In 1989, Leslie was injured in an automobile accident and suffered a severe spinal cord injury. She remained hospitalized for 6 months after the accident, undergoing surgery and rehabilitation. At the same time, she had to deal with her long term disability carrier, her car insurance company, her healthcare provider as well as the Social Security Administration. Leslie returned to work as an attorney after leaving the hospital, but her experience left her with a new perspective on injury law. She changed career paths, stopped representing insurance companies and joined Mr. Harris, fighting for the rights of the injured and disabled.
